KTC820D / KTC820B
Digital tension signal amplifier series for load-cell signal conditioning.
View Product IntroClosed-Loop Tension Control
Tension sensors, load cell amplifiers and power amplifiers are key parts of a stable closed-loop tension control system. They help converting, printing, packaging, film, foil and battery material lines measure web tension, condition the sensor signal and drive brakes, clutches or controller inputs with repeatable feedback.
KRD Automation helps match the sensor capacity, amplifier input, output signal, power stage and controller interface to the actual machine section. This is especially important when a retrofit must reuse existing rollers, brakes, PLC wiring or operator panels.

View SensorsStart by confirming the function needed in the tension loop. A tension sensor measures web force. A signal amplifier converts the sensor output into a usable signal for a controller, drive or PLC. A power amplifier provides output power for devices such as magnetic powder brakes or clutches. Some machines need only one component, while others need a matched controller, amplifier and sensor package.
Useful selection details include web width, expected tension range, roller layout, load cell mounting style, existing controller model, required output signal and whether the system controls unwind, rewind or an intermediate process zone.
These components are commonly used on roll-to-roll printing presses, laminating machines, coating lines, slitting rewinders, flexible packaging lines and film converting equipment. Stable signal conditioning helps reduce tension drift, startup scrap, telescoping rolls, wrinkles and inconsistent rewind quality.
For replacement projects, send the current model number, wiring photos and machine section photos. For new builds, share the material type, machine speed, roller diameter, control objective and cabinet interface so KRD can recommend the correct amplifier and sensor combination.
It converts the low-level signal from a tension sensor into a stable output that can be used by a tension controller, PLC or drive for closed-loop web tension control.
A power amplifier is used when the system must drive a device such as a magnetic powder brake or clutch, not only read a tension measurement signal.
To confirm compatibility, share the machine type, web material, tension range, wiring requirements and photos of the installation area. KRD can review whether a standard signal amplifier, tension sensor, power amplifier or complete control package is the best fit.
